Leena Khurana Day Care Centre has a capacity of 40 persons. The main focus is on development of skills of the members to overcome their deficiencies in personal, social and vocational functioning and thereby rehabilitating and integrating them with family and society.
The training imparted includes arts & craft, yoga, music, vocal and instrumental music, dancing, , painting, computers, communication improvement, vocabulary building etc. The activities are conducted by visiting teachers, clinical staff and resident members.
Besides, members have interactive sessions and discussion groups which actively engage them. The members act as auxiliary therapists and influence each others’ behaviour and attitudes.
The Centre has a library where books, periodicals and newspaper can be read.
The Day Care Centre also has recreational and leisure activities which include video films, TV watching, listening to music, indoor and outdoor games, computer games etc. to help them in recovery process.
The facility has open spaces around main building which have been landscaped with green lawns having marble benches. The green spaces provide greater sense of community and relaxed atmosphere which are known to promote mental health.
Arrangements exist for to and fro transportation of members from
Noida and Greater Noida to LKDCC.
